professionals in the Netherlands

Eric Magnusson

Eric Magnusson

Managing Director Europe & Senior PEP® Consultant

I have a background in Sales and Marketing and have worked in North America, Europe and Africa.

The PEP® Program was developed in 1984 by Kerry Gleeson in Sweden where I started as a PEP® trainer. In 1986 I came to the Netherlands to support KLM with their Quality Program. The practical PEP® Principles fitted perfectly with what KLM wanted and it resulted in a 25-year working relationship. Siemens, Shell and Unilever soon followed suit.

The business model I chose was to attract independent entrepreneurs. The PEP® worldwide offices emerged like mushrooms, but this structure remained unique. It contributed to our being the most productive unit worldwide. The Dutch culture is an important additional factor for this success. The Dutch are entrepreneurs by nature, but this setup requires a high degree of integrity and trust, which is essential for this to work. With strong independent entrepreneurs as a basis, I chose the Dutch polder model to further strengthen and expand the business. As a result, all PEP® trainers have an important voice and influence in the policy of the business in the Netherlands.

In 1993 we obtained the PEP® rights for Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2005, Europe, Ukraine, the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates followed suit.

Co-owner & Office Manager Europe

PEP® is my guiding principle in life. I have worked in many market sectors ranging from pharma to computers in the administrative and financial sector,  in 1988 I joined the PEP® team. I immediately saw the positive effect that the PEP® program has on so many people. Although their workload did not change, the use of the PEP® principles reduced work stress and gave them a sense of calm, even in their personal lives.

Investing in the growth and expansion of our business in Europe and the Middle East became a priority as technology developed rapidly. However, human nature remains the same, which is why the PEP® principles have just as much impact today as they did in the beginning.

As co-owner and running the back office, the PEP® principles are not only the tools I use every day, but also my way of life.

At a young age I was active in various sectors, especially advisory sales has always attracted me to advise my customers and to think along with them how to come to a solution. After I was trained as a PEP® consultant,

I found my passion and strength not only in PEP® but especially in business development. Over the past years, I have seen very closely not only the positive results of PEP® in its effect on personal efficiency in the workplace, but also how PEP® permeates the personal lives of the participants.

When I contact our customers, I am always looking forward to finding the best way for PEP® to work for their organization.

I do not hide my passion for PEP®.

I like to share this passion with others. Together with an organisation, a team or participant, we work step by step on a process to work in a different way.

Change is a choice. By listening, working closely together and giving personal attention, we push through the change together. By watching how people work, the PEP® method of working can be optimally experienced. This is not only surprising, but above all amazement that it can be done so simply and practically “differently”.

What follows is appreciation. People experience a better balance, time savings, control of work systems and more job satisfaction. This makes both parties proud.

People are usually vaguely aware that they could work more efficiently, but often don’t know how. Especially in the field of behaviour, there are always a few eye-openers in terms of time savings. With the PEP® principles, participants get a better overview, less stress and useful tips on how to organize their work smartly.

The fact that results can be measured to see how much an employee or a team has improved is very valuable to the customer.

The return of PEP® is in the personal coaching. As a PEP® coach you do not leave people with a number of working principles, but you implement them together with the participants. The enthusiasm when they get a grip on their work again and how they get back to work with renewed energy also gives me a lot of energy and satisfaction.

I deal with different corporate cultures, and that makes my work interesting, I work independently within an international organization, I determine my own time and therefore influence the growth of the business.

How does the customer experience the PEP® program?

Reflection on the way that you work is important for reducing stress and increasing the work-life balance. As a PEP® coach, you put structure into the work of the people you guide. With the theory of work habits, work systems and planning, participants learn how to work well and enjoy the process of change. In the program, the participant can directly apply the principles of PEP and therefor immediately experience the benefits. The individual coaching is the key to mastering a new way of working.

The workload is increasing, everyone is demanding attention, deadlines are getting shorter and there are more and more channels from which information and actions come.

The PEP® method helps you to better plan and organize your work. You become aware of your own work habits, you gain an overview of your actions, you can prioritize better and you have a good agenda planning.

As an independent entrepreneur you have many opportunities to introduce the PEP® program as a quality product in your company. You will continuously improve the PEP® method in collaboration with other PEP® coaches. It is always a terrific challenge to coach the participants in different companies in the proper implementation of the PEP® principles.

I sometimes get the question whether I have had enough of PEP® after 18 years. I always answer with a resounding “No”. With PEP® I make participants so happy and enthusiastic that it is a pleasure and remains valuable, simply because PEP® really works!

I am an enthusiastic coach with the drive to help others a step further, so that they can enjoy their work again. I help people who need handles, structure and overview and who need someone next to and behind them to get perspective again.

As a PEP® coach I thoroughly immerse myself in the organization and the context and look for suitable solutions together with the participants. I am involved and at the same time professional. I know how to get the question behind the question, sometimes ask difficult questions and if necessary also take you out of your comfort zone.

In 2003, 18 years ago, I started as a PEP® coach and I still enjoy working with it today. Why? I think it’s fantastic to see that participants rediscover themselves by working smarter and get more energy!

This testimonial from one of my participants speaks for itself:

“Ben looked with me and gave advice that suited me. Searching for the right layout, setting priorities, thinking about goals and looking critically at your way of working, are things that I would not have thought of myself. Ben’s mirror and his tips really helped me on my way. My work has become more efficient, structured and relaxed. I can recommend the PEP training to everyone! Give yourself that time to examine your way of working. It really is a gift to yourself!”.

The greatest part of being a PEP® trainer is guiding and motivating someone into positive change. There is nothing more rewarding than to witness the empowerment and confidence individuals experience, simply by implementing the PEP® Principles into their day to day routine and as a result taking back control of their work-life balance.

Having worked in multi-national corporations in Europe, as well as in the event management industry in Dubai, the PEP® principles have been just as relevant to me, regardless of the culture or industry that I was in.

The key is the one-on-one coaching, the guidance and support through the process of change. The results then speak for themselves; peace of mind.
